NATIONAL ACCOUNTS
The System of National Accounts is a comprehensive, accounting framework within which economic data can be presented on the operation of the
nation’s economy in much the same way as business accounts describe the
operation of an enterprise.It is based on a set of
internationally agreed concepts, definitions, classifications and accounting
rules within which economic data can be presented.
The Jamaican System of National Accounts is based on the
United Nations System of National Accounts 1993 (1993 SNA). The classification
of industries used in the accounts is the Jamaica Industrial Classification (JIC
2005). This is a local adaptation of the United Nations International Standard
Industrial Classification of all Economic Activities (ISIC Rev.3).

This is to advise that the 2020 National Income and Product Report will not be published. As a result Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by Expenditure and Income is not available for 2020. However, preliminary annual GDP by Industry estimates for 2020 are available. In addition, quarterly GDP by Industry estimates are published with a three month lag.
